WAJIR ISLAMIC TEACHER WINS A LAPTOP

The Kenya Secondary School Heads Association conference ended on Friday with two heads from Maseno and Wajir Schools, winning a laptop and Sh100,000 each in a contest.

Mr Paul Otula from Maseno School was named Principal of the Year while Mr Hassan Salat Mohamed from Wajir was crowned Teacher of the Year in a contest organised by KSSHA.
The prizes were
presented to the winners by the Basic Education Minister Sam Ongeri at the close of a conference, which was attended by 4,000 principals.Mr. Hassan is an Islamic Religious Education and Arabic teachers at Griftu Secondary School, in Wajir, which ranked second nationwide in the two subjects.

The minister requested TSC chairman Ibrahim Hussen and ministry directors to furnish him with reports on the two for more incentives from the Government. The selection of the winners was presided by the ministry Quality Assurance department directors, and results announced by one of themr Enos Oyaya.

The contest was co-sponsored by Kenya Commercial Bank and the Old Mutual.
