KENYA EDUCATIONAL OFFICIALS ABDUCTED

Militants of Al Shabaab who abducted 5 Kenyan educational officials today claim that they are going to prosecute them for having crossed into Somalia “without permission”.

The abducted officials had apparently gone shopping on the Somali side of the border, a fairly normal activity in the area. They were attending the Provincial School football contest.

Bula Hawo governor says the captives will be investigated and taken to court to explain their mission in Somalia. Kenya police and the Provincial Administration are negotiating with the militants for the release of the five from an unknown location in Somalia.

It was reported that Somalia students are enrolled so many in Kenyan schools, enjoying free education recently.
